Justin Marks’s career pretty much boils down to nada. Really, he hasn’t done anything of note, but he continues to get writing work, which leads me to believe that maybe his script for Voltron: Defender of the Universe for Fox is better than you would imagine along with his scripts for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Supermax and Street Fighter. I mean, why else would studios continue to bring on board the guy?
The latest work Marks has picked up is scripting the adaptation of the Devil’s Due Publishing comicbook “Hack/Slash” for Rogue Pictures.
Todd Lincoln is set to direct the feature based on the Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli created comic, which revolves around Cassie Hack, a young woman who travels the country and takes on homicidal maniacs and serial killers along the way. The story is expected to be heavy on comedy and horror. So, think Jessica Alba being cast in a remake of The Eye. Huh? They did that already? Ha ha!
Who knows what will be the first Marks script to make the big screen (most likely Street Fighter). Until then I think I will have to cut him some slack.
