Well, it was one hell of a weird night as the 2008 Golden Globe Awards were announced in 30 minutes. Laremy did his best to live diary it, and keeping up with the rapid pace adding the live winners was killer, but they are over and I nailed 10 of the 14 film categories, and the ones that I missed the people I thought should win actually won, except for that blasted director win in which Julian Schnabel shocked us all giving neither the Coens or Joe Wright the win.
Atonement, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and Sweeney Todd were the two films to take home two wins each with Atonement taking Best Picture (Drama) and Sweeney Todd taking home the Best Picture (Musical/Comedy).
The best news in my opinion was the realization that Juno
isn’t that great by it missing out not only on Musical/Comedy but also screenplay and actress. Not that I hate that film I just think it is highly overrated.
