Fox is going to have an interesting 2008 as the majority of their films look awful. However I am holding out hope for the likes of Australia, The Happening and Babylon A.D.. There is certainly potential Horton Hears a Who based on the Dr. Seuss story as well as Jumper but other than that, do we really need a spoof on 300? And what the hells is Shutter, a direct-to-DVD movie that accidentally got a theatrical release?
As always, the previews are below and the links open in new windows to check out the pics. At the bottom of the article are links to previous previews.
Katherine Heigl, who earlier this year got “Knocked Up” in the hit motion picture comedy from Judd Apatow, and nabbed an Emmy(R) for her starring role as a surgical resident in “Grey’s Anatomy,” is always a bridesmaid but never a bride in the romantic comedy 27 DRESSES. From the screenwriter of “The Devil Wears Prada,” 27 DRESSES centers on Jane (Heigl), an idealistic, romantic and completely selfless woman…a perennial bridal attendant whose own happy ending is nowhere in sight. But when younger sister Tess captures the heart of Jane’s boss – with whom Jane is secretly in love – Jane begins to reexamine her “always-a-bridesmaid….” lifestyle.
After successfully skewering Hollywood’s scariest movie (as two of the writers on “Scary Movie”), romantic comedy franchises (“Date Movie”), and Hollywood blockbusters ( “Epic Movie”), writers/directors/producers Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer now set their sights on “300.” The heroic Leonidas, armed with nothing by leather underwear and a cape, leads a ragtag group of 13 – count ’em, 13! — Spartans to defend their homeland against the invading Persians (whose ranks include Ghost Rider, Rocky Balboa, the Transformers, and a hunchbacked Paris Hilton).
A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them.
The makers of ICE AGE, and comedy giants Jim Carrey and Steve Carell, bring to life DR. SEUSS’ beloved HORTON HEARS A WHO. An imaginative elephant named Horton (Carrey) hears a faint cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Although Horton doesn’t know it yet, that speck houses an entire city named Who-ville, inhabited by the microscopic Whos, led by the Mayor (Carell). Despite being ridiculed and threatened by his neighbors who think he has lost his mind, Horton is determined to save the particle…because “a person’s a person no matter how small.”
A newly married couple discovers disturbing, ghostly images in photographs they develop after a tragic accident. Fearing the manifestations may be connected, they investigate and learn that some mysteries are better left unsolved.
Two strangers awaken together to discover they’ve gotten married following a night of debauchery in Sin City, and one of them has won a huge jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. The newlyweds devise ever-escalating schemes to undermine each other and get their hands on the money – only to find themselves falling in love amid the mutual backstabbing.
Seeking a way to save their doomed world, a crew of tiny, human-looking aliens arrives on earth in the perfect disguise–a spaceship shaped like an ordinary man.
A paranoid thriller about a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity from director M. Night Shyamalan.
Vin Diesel stars as a mercenary hired to deliver a package from the ravages of post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe to a destination in the teeming megalopolis of New York City. The “package” is a mysterious young woman with a secret.
A romantic action-adventure set in northern Australia prior to World War II, AUSTRALIA centers on an English aristocrat (Kidman) who inherits a ranch the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle driver (Jackman) to drive 2000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country’s most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier. With his new film, Luhrmann is painting on a vast canvas, creating a cinematic experience that brings together romance, drama, adventure and spectacle.
