Weren’t there rumors that if Tobey Maguire dropped out of the Spider-Man movies that Jake Gyllenhaal would fill his shoes? I could sworn I heard something like that way back when, or perhaps it was Gyllenhaal as Superman… Who knows and who cares? It has nothing to do with this story so I will quit rambling.
What we have here is a new flick from Jim Sheridan and Maguire and Gyllenhaal are set to star in it. The flick is called Brothers, it’s a remake of Susanne Bier’s Danish-language war drama centering on a man (Maguire) who is sent to fight in Afghanistan while his black-sheep brother (Gyllenhaal) cares for his wife and child.
The original was released in 2004 and starred a recognizable name in Connie Nielsen.
David Benioff, who penned the upcoming Wolverine spin-off, is writing the script with shooting scheduled to begin in early November.
