Becker Will Deal with Disney ‘Samurai’

I think I am one of the few people that openly admitted to liking Wild Hogs, but based on the $165 million it made at the box-office I don’t think I am alone and it seems director Walt Becker liked it as well as his relationship with Disney is looking quite good.

Becker is already lined up to direct Old Dogs for Disney with John Travolta and Robin Williams, there are rumors of a Wild Hogs sequel and Becker also has several other projects set up with the studio, and now we have another one.

Variety is reporting that Becker will direct and produce My Samurai for Disney with Matt Lopez set to pen the script.

The story concerns an American who, while on a business trip to Japan, saves the life of a homeless man who claims he’s the last in a long line of samurai. The businessman’s life is turned upside down when the so-called samurai shows up on his doorstep, pledging eternal service and loyalty.

There is no word on casting as of yet. Becker describes the film to Variety saying, “It’s funny with a lot of heart.”
