Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet probably have Oscars swimming in their heads as the two stars are set to team together again for the first time since 1997’s Oscar-winning Titanic with Revolutionary Road for DreamWorks.
Winslet’s husband Sam Mendes (Jarhead) will direct the feature based on the 1961 Richard Yates novel about post-war disillusionment. The story follows a seemingly happy suburban couple with two children in the mid-1950s who find themselves caught between their true desires and the pressure to conform — with explosive consequences.
The team of Mendes, DiCaprio and Winslet certainly smells like Oscar and the story sounds like an Oscar-worthy film, we will just have to wait and see how it all pans out.
Filming begins this summer from an adapted screenplay by scribe Justin Haythe.
