There must be some serious reshoots going on with Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Invasion because it is still shooting, and crashing apparently.
Back in November ’06 there was word that the Wachowski brothers might be brought onto the film to do some rewriting because “the ending of the film left something to be desired in the eyes of Warner Bros. production president Jeff Robinov, and that Silver quickly reloaded his “V for Vendetta” scribes to fashion a new ending, the details of which have not yet emerged.”
Well, it looks like the writing is done, but the filming is not. However, it has hit a bump in the road as Nicole Kidman has apparently crashed during filming and TMZ has the video. The video is described as such:
Tires screeched and sparks flew as a stunt truck, towing a car carrying Nicole, skidded out of control on a slick street, slammed into a lightpost and sent broken glass showering onto the wreckage. Several actors and stunt men were injured, including a few who were hanging from the car during the filming. Kidman looks somewhat dazed as she leaves the accident scene.
That last part about her looking dazed is a bit of an exaggeration, to check out the video click here.
The Invasion tells the story of a mysterious epidemic that alters the behavior of human beings. When a Washington D.C. psychiatrist (Nicole Kidman) discovers the epidemic’s origins are extraterrestrial, she must fight to protect her son, who may hold the key to stopping an imminent invasion.
TMZ says that the stuntment you see in the video hanging on the car were portraying zombie-like characters attacking the vehicle.
The film is now set for an August 17, 2007 release.
