Gwyneth Paltrow has been MIA as of late, and for good reason, she just gave birth to Apple’s brother Moses and is taking time off from movies for mommy duty. However, The Boston Herald has learned that Paltrow is ready to throw herself back in the Hollywood ring as she reportedly made it known to Bobby and Peter Farrelly that she would love to play the psycho bride in the brothers’ remake of the old Charles Grodin-Cybill Shepherd romantic comedy The Heartbreak Kid.
But wait, there’s more. So we got Paltrow ready to play nutso, but who will play the “perfect lady”? Well, there is a new kid on the block, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Michelle Monaghan, fresh off Mission: Impossible III, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and North Country is hangin’ tough as the Farrellys’ top choice for the role.
“She’s red hot in Hollywood right now,” Bobby Farrelly told the Boston Herald. “She’s got huge buzz. But we have our fingers crossed.”
So here’s the dish. The flick has been renamed The Seven Day Itch and will star Ben Stiller as a groom who has just gotten married to what he believes to be the girl of his dreams. However, on their honeymoon, he finds out she is a nut job… in comes Monaghan to save the day.
Neither lady has been cast yet, but the boys are set to go into preproduction on the flick so stay tuned.
