Russell and Rhys Meyers in ‘August Rush’


The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Keri Russell and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are set to star in August Rush with Freddie Highmore, Robin Williams and Liv Tyler and director Kristen Sheridan.

The film is set up over at Warner Bros. Pictures and is set in Central Park and is the story of a boy who has lost his parents and embarks on a magical musical journey to be reunited with them. Highmore will play the boy, Tyler his mother and Williams the mysterious benefactor wizard. Russell and Rhys Meyers play the parents, with Russell acting as a sheltered cellist.

Mark Mancina is aboard to score the film with the theme being co-written by Hans Zimmer and Mancina.

Last I heard production was scheduled to begin in August, and yes, I see the connection.
