The Amazon Prime Video schedule for August 14-20 is topped by Cocaine Bear.
Starting Tuesday, August 15, Prime Video subscribers can watch Cocaine Bear on their favorite streamer. Directed by Elizabeth Banks, the film follows the bizarre and true story of a black bear that accidentally consumed a large amount of cocaine dropped from an airplane. Written by Jimmy Warden, the movie stars Keri Russell, Brooklyn Prince, Alden Ehrenreich, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Margo Martindale, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Christian Convery-Jennings, Matthew Rhys, Isiah Whitlock Jr, Kristofer Hivju, Hannah Hoekstra, Ray Liotta, and Aaron Holliday. Cocaine Bear grossed $89 million at the box office, overcoming its reported $30 million production budget.
Starting Friday, August 18, fans can also watch Harlan Coben’s Shelter on Prime Video. The Amazon-owned streamer will drop three installments at once, with new episodes premiering each Friday through September 22. A live-action adaptation of the novel of the same name by Harlan Coben, the story follows Mickey Bolitar’s investigation of Ashley Kent’s disappearance with friends Spoon and Ema. His father’s death leads him to Kasselton, New Jersey, where he uncovers a dark underbelly beneath the town’s façade.
The cast includes Jaden Michael as Mickey Bolitar, Constance Zimmer as Shira Bolitar, Adrian Greensmith as Arthur “Spoon” Spindell, Abby Corrigan as Ema Winslow, Tovah Feldshuh as Bat Lady, Sage Linder as Rachel Caldwell, and Brian Altemus as Troy, among others.
The project hails from showrunners and executive producers Harlan Coben and Allen MacDonald. The list of executive producers includes Edward Ornelas and Erik Barmack, with Charlotte Coben serving as a producer.
