Fox and Salerno Get ‘Reckless’

Variety is reporting that 20th Century Fox has picked up the sexual thriller Reckless from screenwriter Shane Salerno for high-six to low-seven figures.

The film centers on a 30-ish married couple who start playing a dangerous game in an effort to spice up their flagging marriage.

Craig Fanning, a friend of Salerno’s was the motivating factor behind the feature as the owner of FM Rocks, a music video prod. company, told Salerno he was eager to get into the movie producing business and offered Salerno his usual fee. Variety quoted Fanning as saying, “Shane’s complaint (five years ago) was, ‘Where’s the Fatal Attraction for my generation? And I thought, he’s right: It just needs to be targeted at the MTV demo.”

Salerno co-wrote Sony Picctures upcoming comic adaptation Ghost Rider as well as MEG, which Jan De Bont is aboard to direct for New Line.
