Variety reports that Christian Gudegast has signed on to direct the bank heist drama Den of Thieves for Relativity Media.
The story centers on a thief who’s planning a heist but gets trapped between two sets of criminals.
Gudegast wrote the screenplay with Paul Scheuring nearly a decade ago. Benderspink recently brought Gudegast and Scheuring’s screenplay to Relativity, which enjoyed modest success with this year’s heist drama The Bank Job, starring Jason Statham.
Mark Canton is producing “Den of Thieves” alongside Relativity’s Ryan Kavanaugh and Tucker Tooley. Bender and Spink exec produce.
Relativity is eyeing a fall start date for Den of Thieves.
