ComingSoon.net spotted three new character one-sheets for Focus Features’ anticipated Atonement at the Toronto International Film Festival. The December 7 release, directed by Joe Wright, stars Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Romola Garai, Vanessa Redgrave and Brenda Blethyn.
From the filmmakers of Pride & Prejudice, Atonement is based on the award-winning best-selling 2002 novel, a classic British romance that spans several decades. Fledgling writer Briony Tallis, as a 13-year-old, irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister’s (Knightley) lover (McAvoy) of a crime he did not commit.
