Amazon MGM Studios has announced a remake of the 1968 classic The Thomas Crown Affair. The studio also confirmed that the film’s teaser trailer will be released tomorrow.
Michael B. Jordan returns as both director and lead actor in the new version of the classic story. He will also be producing this project, which marks his second feature as a director. The makers have described this film as a visually striking, emotional heist thriller “where the most dangerous man in the room is the one nobody’s watching.”
The plot centers around billionaire Thomas Crown (Michael B. Jordan), who steals a valuable painting while police are distracted by another heist. His actions catch the attention of an insurance investigator, played by Adria Arjona. As they try to outsmart each other, the two fall in love. Taylor Russell was first cast in the role, but Arjona replaced her after filming had already started in London.

Alongside Jordan and Arjona, the cast includes Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart. Taylor Russell was originally cast as the insurance investigator. However, Arjona stepped into the role shortly after filming began in London.
Drew Pearce and Jason Hall wrote the screenplay, based on a story by Alan R. Trustman and Pearce. The film is based on Trustman’s original screenplay for the 1968 classic. Other co-producers are Elizabeth Raposo, Marc Toberoff, Patrick McCormick, and Charles Roven.
The original Thomas Crown Affair hit theaters in 1968 with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. It was later remade in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. The latest version is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 5, 2027.
