After struggling during its theatrical run, Masters of the Universe has found renewed success on Amazon Prime Video. The He-Man movie has climbed to the top of the platform’s movie rankings in the United States, surpassing several popular films. Masters of the Universe has received a significant boost following its theatrical run, climbing to the top of Prime Video’s streaming charts.
According to FlixPatrol, the film ranked No. 1 on Amazon Prime Video’s Top 10 Movies chart in the United States on July 24, 2026, while also securing the top position across the platform’s overall rankings. The film outperformed a number of popular movies, including Moonfall, Project Hail Mary, Ruthless, The Sheep Detectives, The Amateur, and World War Z among others.
The story centers on Prince Adam, who has spent most of his life on Earth after being hidden away as a child to escape Skeletor’s reach. His ordinary life changes when the legendary Sword of Power leads him back to Eternia, where he discovers that the kingdom has fallen under Skeletor’s oppressive rule. Facing a homeland on the brink of collapse, Adam reunites with Teela, Duncan, and the remaining heroes of Eternia.
To stand against his greatest enemy, Adam must finally accept his destiny and transform into He-Man. The film features Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, and James Purefoy as King Randor among others.
Masters of the Universe received a generally positive response from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 67 percent critics’ score based on 251 reviews. Meanwhile, audience responded more favorably, giving the film an 86 percent score.
However, the film struggled to perform at the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, Masters of the Universe earned approximately $113.5 million worldwide against a reported $170 million production budget. Its total included around $64.7 million from domestic theaters and roughly $48.7 million from international markets.
