Marvel gave fans a fresh surprise at San Diego Comic-Con. A newly displayed costume instantly became one of the event’s biggest attractions. The official Cyclops suit from Avengers: Doomsday was showcased on the convention floor, offering the clearest look yet at James Marsden’s return as Scott Summers.
Avengers: Doomsday’s Cyclops suit is straight out of comics
Rather than reinventing the character, Marvel leaned into Cyclops’ iconic design. The costume features the familiar blue body armor, accented with bright yellow details across the gloves, shoulders, and boots.
A yellow utility belt carrying the classic X-Men X emblem sits at the waist, while Scott Summers’ trademark ruby-quartz visor completes the comic-accurate appearance. Fans also noticed a textured X pattern worked into the chest armor, a detail that was absent from earlier live-action versions of the character.
The response online was overwhelmingly positive. One fan called it “one of the best suits to come out of the Multiverse Saga,” although they questioned why the boots appeared to be a different shade of yellow than the rest of the costume.
Another praised the hidden chest texture, saying they loved the shared visual language across the X-Men uniforms despite each hero having a unique design. A third fan simply wrote that the suit looked “immaculate” and said they couldn’t wait to see it alongside Wolverine’s classic yellow costume.
Avengers: Doomsday brings together one of Marvel Studios’ biggest ensembles yet. Confirmed cast members include Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Letitia Wright, Sebastian Stan, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen, among many others. James Marsden also returns as Cyclops, while Robert Downey Jr. headlines the film in an unexpected new role as Doctor Doom.
The Russo brothers are directing the film and have said they’re taking extensive precautions to prevent leaks, relying heavily on soundstages and carefully selected filming locations. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026.
