According to Press Hulu, Sonic the Hedgehog arrives on August 1, 2026. The action-adventure comedy first released back in February 2020. Jeff Fowler directed the popular video game adaptation. Notably, it became the first Sonic live-action movie.
The story follows Sonic, a young blue hedgehog with super speed. Initially, Longclaw sends him safely to Earth while protecting him. Years later, Sonic secretly lives near Green Hills, Montana. He dreams about friends and a normal life someday.
He especially looks up to local sheriff Tom Wachowski. However, everything changes after Sonic accidentally causes a massive power outage. As a result, the strange incident attracts the attention of scientist Doctor Robotnik.
Robotnik quickly becomes obsessed with capturing Sonic and stealing his incredible powers. Consequently, Sonic soon teams up with Sheriff Tom Wachowski for help. Together they travel across the country while escaping constant danger.
Their unlikely friendship grows stronger during every unexpected challenge. Meanwhile, he finds himself adjusting to life on Earth. Along the way, Sonic meets new allies and dangerous enemies. His journey eventually changes everything around him.
