The actress’s black comedy sci-fi thriller Colossal is scheduled to leave the streaming platform next month. This gives subscribers a limited window to watch it before it is removed from the service.

Anne Hathaway’s sci-fi kaiju film Colossal is set to leave Netflix next month. According to What’s on Netflix, the film will be removed from the streaming service on August 10, 2026. Subscribers have until then to watch the movie before it exits the platform.
Directed and written by Nacho Vigalondo, Colossal was released in U.S. theaters on April 7, 2017. The film follows Gloria, an unemployed writer, as her life takes an unexpected turn when her boyfriend asks her to move out of their apartment. With nowhere else to go, she returns to her hometown, hoping to rebuild her life while dealing with her alcohol dependency.
There, she reconnects with Oscar, a friend she has known since elementary school. As Gloria struggles to move forward, reports surface of a gigantic creature attacking Seoul, South Korea. She gradually realizes that the mysterious events are somehow connected to her own actions. This leads her to uncover why her life has an extraordinary impact on the destruction taking place across the world.
The cast includes Anne Hathaway as Gloria, Jason Sudeikis as Oscar, Dan Stevens as Tim, Austin Stowell as Joel, Tim Blake Nelson as Garth, and Rukiya Bernard as Marie, among others. Colossal received mixed reviews following its release. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an 82 percent critics’ score based on 263 reviews, while its audience score stands at 58 percent.
According to Box Office Mojo, Colossal earned $4.53 million at the worldwide box office. The film grossed more than $3 million in domestic theaters, while international markets contributed an additional $1.5 million.
