Tom Holland has finally received a response from Erling Haaland after seemingly being ghosted in his DMs. He revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he wanted to take the soccer star out for dinner. But he received no explanation, no excuse, just complete silence.
Erling Haaland accepts Tom Holland’s dinner invitation
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon page took to Instagram to share a clip from the show where Holland admits that he DMed Haaland and received no response. The soccer star commented on the post, officially accepting the dinner invite, which he had seemingly ignored earlier, possibly because he was unaware who the Spider-Man actor was. He wrote, “Dinner invitation accepted @tomholland2013. A little late. Just name the place!”
This comes after Fallon showed Holland a Culture Crave post on the show claiming that he had messaged Haaland to hang out. However, Haaland didn’t respond because he had “no idea” who Holland was, as he doesn’t watch films and assumed he was a “random person.” Holland admitted the claim was true and revealed that he had wanted to take the soccer star out for dinner. However, he never received a response, not even an excuse about being busy or playing soccer.
Later, Fallon showcased Haaland’s belated invitation acceptance, asking them to enjoy the dinner and share some details about it afterwards. He also jokingly added that if they need a third person for a hangout, he is available to join too. Fans took to social media to share interesting reactions on the whole Haaland x Holland situation.
A fan wrote, “Well, he did cast the spell to make everyone forget who Spider-Man was.” Another added, “I love how Tom reacted to him not responding.” A third one wrote, “Should’ve told ‘I’m Spiderman.’ Other reactions also included, “Humbling experience from a humble footballer,” “I know this dinner would be epic and fun,” and “Not Jimmy jinxing Tom.” Some also requested that Fallon get Haaland on the show.
