Tony McFarr Passes Away, Chris Pratt Stuntman Was 47

Tony McFarr, a stuntman who is best known for being Chris Pratt’s double, has passed away. He was 47 years old.

According to Deadline, McFarr passed away from undetermined causes on May 13, 2024, at his home outside of Orlando, Florida.

TMZ first reported the news. The outlet noted that McFarr’s mother, Donna, said his passing was “unexpected and shocking.” Deadline’s article further reads, “The Orange County Medical Examiner has confirmed to Deadline that an exam has taken place and a cause/manner of death is pending toxicology results.”

Born in October 1976, McFarr’s Hollywood career began as an uncredited stunt double for Geoff Stults on the set of Bones in 2011.

He went on to do stunt work in movies such as 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, 2012’s Rock of Ages, 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, 2014’s Let’s Be Cops, 2014’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, 2015’s Furious 7, 2015’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, 2016’s The Accountant, 2017’s Logan Lucky, 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, 2018’s Tag, 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, 2021’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and more.

McFarr first served as Pratt’s stuntman on 2015’s Jurassic World. He went on to work with Pratt on 2016’s Passengers, 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

“Since 2013, McFarr has been the owner of Reel Bowls restaurant near Orlando. According to his Linkedin page, he owned a total of three restaurants in that career, including an eatery called The Fit Kitchen,” Deadline’s article reads.

According to TMZ, McFarr is survived by his daughter, his sister, his mother, and his father.
