Abigail’s Kevin Durand Joins Cast of Naked Gun Reboot With Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson

Kevin Durand is joining Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson in the new Naked Gun reboot.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Durand has been cast in the Paramount Pictures’ new Naked Gun movie, which will be released in July 2025. He will reportedly be playing one of the villains in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s sources.

The new Naked Gun movie is being directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod, Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers), who also co-wrote the script with Dan Gregor and Doug Man.

Neeson is playing Frank Drebin in the forthcoming movie, while Anderson has been cast as the love interest. Paul Walter Hauser (Richard Jewell, Orion and the Dark) has also been tapped to play Captain Ed in the new Naked Gun reboot.

The movie is being produced by Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins. Schaffer serves as an executive producer alongside Daniel M. Stillman.

Durand made his professional acting debut in Hollywood when playing Bazooka Marksman Joe in 1999’s Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. He went on to star in movies such as 2004’s The Butterfly Effect, 2006’s Somkin’ Aces, 2007’s 3:10 to Yuma, 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2010’s Robin Hood, 2011’s Real Steel, 2021’s Resident Evil: Retribution, 2014’s Noah, and 2017’s Tragedy Girls, among other roles.

He recently played Peter in Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett’s new horror movie Abigail, which is currently playing in United States theaters. Durand will next be seen portraying the villainous Proximus Caesar in Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which releases on May 10, 2024, from 20th Century Studios.

The new Naked Gun reboot releases in United States theaters on July 18, 2025, from Paramount Pictures.
