What else do we know about Deliver Me From Nowhere?

Deliver Me From Nowhere is based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 novel Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.

20th Century Studios said of the film’s plot, “[It tells] the fascinating story of Springsteen’s artistic journey in the creation of the album [Nebraska], which is regarded as a landmark in his musical odyssey and a source of inspiration for a generation of artists and musicians. “

Along with directing the film, Cooper is writing the script. Cooper previously made 2009’s Crazy Heart, 2013’s Out of the Furnace, 2015’s Black Mass, 2017’s Hostiles, 2021’s Antlers, and 2022’s The Pale Blue Eye.

“I once read that Nebraska is an album that moves you to the marrow of your bones. I couldn’t agree more,” Cooper said in a statement. “Bruce Springsteen, andNebraska, in particular, have had a profound impact on me and my work. Through themes of despair, disillusionment, and the struggles of everyday Americans, Bruce has formed an unparalleled legacy, painting an unflinching portrait of the human condition. Yet, amidst the darkness, a sense of resilience and a sense of hope shines through, reflecting an indomitable spirit. That’s the Bruce I’ve come to know and love and will honor with this film. Warren Zanes’ wonderful telling of this chapter in Bruce’s life is ripe for cinematic adaptation. This film has the potential to be a transformative cinematic experience, offering audiences a window into the soul of Bruce Springsteen and the universal truths that bind us all together.”

Deliver Me From Nowhere is being produced by Cooper, Zanes, Scott Stuber, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, and Eric Robinson. Production is expected to begin this fall, while a release date has not yet been set.
