Ryan Reynolds is hanging out with some imaginary friends in a new poster for John Krasinski’s IF.
Krasinski shared a new poster for IF, which releases in May 2024, on X with a caption reading, “It’s coming!! A story you have to believe to see.” ParamountUK also shared another IF poster with the caption, “A story for you and your friends, both real and imaginary.”

What is IF about?
“The film is about a girl who discovers that she can see everyone’s imaginary friends — and what she does with that superpower — as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids,” reads the synopsis.
IF is directed, written, and produced by Krasinski, who previously directed 2009’s Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, 2016’s The Hollars, 2018’s A Quiet Place, and 2020’s A Quiet Place Part II.
Krasinski also stars in the movie alongside Reynolds, Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Alan Kim, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Bobby Moynihan.
The film’s voice cast additionally includes Steve Carell, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni, Richard Jenkins, and Awkwafina.
“Ryan Reynolds is as good as it gets in every single way, shape, and form, and this incredible phenom of an actress, Cailey Fleming, is in the movie,” Krasinski previously told Collider about the film. “For me, it was just about what if we could tell a story about these time capsules? Imaginary friends are adorable and all those things, but they’re also time capsules of your hopes, dreams, and ambitions when you were the most fertile of a brain, and it never goes away. I think we’re told that we’re adults instead of what if you realize that you never stopped being a kid.”
Allyson Seeger and Andrew Form produce the movie alongside Krasinski and Reynolds, while George Dewey serves as an executive producer.
IF releases in United States theaters on May 17, 2024, from Paramount Pictures.
