Amy Adams and Sam Rockwell are reportedly both in talks to star in Adam McKay’s new climate change movie, Greenhouse.
According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Adams and Rockwell are both being eyed to star in Greenhouse, a new movie from Don’t Look Up’s McKay.
What do we know about Greenhouse?
Deadline reported in December 2023 that McKay was looking to address the subject of climate change in his next movie, though no other details were given at the time. According to Sneider, the movie will be based on David Wallace-Wells’ 2019 novel The Uninhabitable Earth: Life After Warming.
“It is worse, much worse, than you think,” the description of the novel reads. “If your anxiety about global warming is dominated by fears of sea-level rise, you are barely scratching the surface of what terrors are possible—food shortages, refugee emergencies, climate wars and economic devastation. Adams and Rockwell both played sizable roles in Vice, McKay’s satirical biopic about Dick Cheney that was released in 2018.
Along with Vice and Don’t Look Up, McKay is known for directing 2004’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, 2006’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, 2008’s Step Brothers, and 2015’s The Big Short.
A release date for Greenhouse has not yet been set.
