Jack Quaid, Amber Midthunder Set to Star in Paramount Thriller Novocaine

The Boys’ Jack Quaid and Prey’s Amber Midthunder are starring in a new action thriller being released by Paramount, Novocaine.

Per Deadline, Quaid and Midthunder are both starring in a new thriller called Novocaine, which will begin filming in South Africa in April 2024.

Quaid is playing Nathan Caine in Novocaine, a bank executive “who has a rare genetic condition that prevents him from feeling physical pain when he is enduring it. When his bank is robbed and one of his co-workers kidnapped, he has to act and finds his greatest liability becomes his greatest strength.”

Midthunder’s role in Novocaine has not been disclosed at this time.

The movie is being directed by Robert Olsen and Dan Berk, who previously worked together on the Bill Skarsgård and Maika Monroe-starring Villains from 2019. Novocaine’s script is written by Lars Jacobson. Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, and Drew Simon serve as producers, while Sam Speiser, Matt Schwartz, Jacobson, Paul Barbeau, Josh Adler, and Julian Rosenberg serve as executive producers.

What else have Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder been in?

Quaid, the son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, is best known for playing Hughie Campbell in Prime Videos’ The Boys. He also voices Superman in My Adventures with Superman and Brad Boimler in Star Trek: Lower Decks, while he’s additionally starred in 2017’s Logan Lucky, 2022’s Scream, and 2023’s Oppenheimer.

Midthunder, meanwhile, played Naru in 2022’s Prey, the fifth and latest installment in the Predator series (not including the Alien vs. Predator crossovers). Along with starring in 2021’s The Ice Road and 2023’s Dream Scenario, she played a major role in FX’s Legion series and will portray Princess Yue in the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action remake debuting on Netflix later this month.

Novocaine does not yet have a release date from Paramount.
