Mortal Kombat 2 Movie Filming Wraps on Bloody Video Game Adaptation

Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat 2 has officially wrapped filming as we await a release date for the video game adaptation sequel.

The Fight’s On for Mortal Kombat 2

After a delay in shooting during last year’s strikes, the follow-up to the 2021 Warner Bros fighfest is that bit closer to completion.

Simon McQuoid is directing the sequel from a screenplay written by Moon Knight’s Jeremy Slater. Mortal Kombat 2 is produced by James Wan, Michael Clear, Todd Garner, and E. Bennet Walsh.

Further details about the plot of the next installment are still largely unknown, but they should follow on from the events of the first movie and maybe even provide us with an actual tournament this time.

In the first Mortal Kombat movie, washed-up MMA fighter Cole Young, unaware of his heritage, and hunted by Emperor Shang Tsung’s best warrior, Sub-Zero, seeks out and trains with Earth’s greatest champions as he prepares to stand against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe.

Mortal Kombat 2 stars Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Mehcad Brooks as Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Noob Saibot, Josh Lawson as Kano, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod, and Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel.
