Mortal Kombat is back and better than ever
After lots of teases on Twitter by Mortal Kombat co-creator and NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon, NetherRealm has now announced Mortal Kombat X!
Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented “Kombat” experience.
Kevin Tancharoen – the director of last year’s web hit Mortal Kombat: Legacy – has announced he’s at work on a second season of the series.
That’s right. Not the feature film reboot that has been discussed…but another season.
After the jump, you’ll find Tancharoen talking about the project. He says they’ve been taking their time working on the scripts. “I can break the silence and tell you guys what it’s going to be about,” he says. “It’s going to be about the actual Mortal Kombat tournament this time.”
Kano, Liu Kang, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Sonya will all appear in the upcoming season. Head inside for more!
Tancharoen’s first season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. The status of the feature film…unknown.
