Jigsaw, Spiral, and Saw X Writers Not Returning for Saw XI

The writing team for the past three entries in the Saw franchise will not be returning for next year’s Saw XI.

A New Saw Point

Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger penned Jigsaw, Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and this year’s Saw X, but Stolberg confirmed they would be handing the reins to a new writing team.

“Pete and I are sitting this chapter out” wrote Stolberg on Twitter/X. ”Very excited to see this one as a fan of the franchise. I think people will be pleased with the team.”

Saw XI was announced last night, with a release date of September 27, 2024. There’s currently no word on who will write the sequel or indeed who is directing, but with under a year until it arrives in cinemas, Lionsgate likely already has that sorted out.

Saw X is seen as a return to form of sorts after something a diversion in Spiral: From the Book of Saw. Saw X was a prequel set between the events of the first two films in the series. It sees John Kramer, aka Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), seeking revenge on doctors who scam him with hopes of a cure for his illness.
