The first five Air Bud movies in the sports comedy franchise are officially coming to Disney+ over two decades since the beloved first installment made its debut. The Air Bud movie collection will be available for streaming starting on Sunday, October 1.

The Air Bud franchise revolves around Buddy, the world’s most athletic and iconic golden retriever. Directed by Charles Martin Smith from a screenplay written by Paul Tamasy and Aaron Mendelssohn, the 1997 film features a shy young student named Josh Framm (Kevin Zegers), who’s struggling to make the basketball team. Everything changes when he meets a stray golden retriever with an unexpected amazing basketball skills. Together they help take their school’s team to the state finals in this hilarious and touching story.
In addition to the first installment, the Air Bud movie collection also consists of 1998’s Air Bud: Golden Receiver, where Buddy discovers his talent in football; 2000’s Air Bud: World Pup, where Buddy competes in the state soccer championship; 2002’s Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch, which finds Buddy trying out baseball; and 2003’s Air Bud: Spikes Back, which features Buddy enjoying the sun while playing beach volleyball.
All movies were produced by Air Bud Entertainment (ABE), the premium brand for live action family movies and series.
