Director James Gunn has confirmed that there are no plans to make Suicide Squad 2.
In 2021, Gunn released The Suicide Squad, a DC superhero movie he wrote and directed. This movie was a reboot of the 2016 film Suicide Squad, and featured Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and more. The movie received positive reviews from critics, who considered it a significant improvement over the first film. With Gunn revamping the DC Universe, fans have wondered if we’ll be getting more of this superhero team.
When asked about it on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, Gunn responded, “Is there a [Suicide Squad 2]? No.” However, he confirmed that after he finished his work on the upcoming DC Universe movie Superman: Legacy, he would get started on Peacemaker season 2, and the Waller TV series starring Viola Davis as the character. Both TV series would be spin-offs of characters from The Suicide Squad.
