Quicksilver Teased for X-Men: Apocalypse and Maybe Even His Own Solo Film

Evan Peters’ scene-stealing Quicksilver, who made his big screen debut in Bryan Singer’s recent X-Men: Days of Future Past, is racing back to 20th Century Fox’s X-franchise. According to second unit director Brian Smrz, there’s a “fun” scene planned for 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

“They want me to start pretty soon, on the storyboarding and stuff,” Smrz tells Newsarama. “I?ll be working on the next X-Men for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it?ll be full-time… There will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to. That’ll be fun.”

Smrz, who was heavily involved in shooting Peters’ impressive slow-motion action scene, even goes on to suggest that discussions have been raised about giving Peters’ popular character his own solo film.

“We talked about Quicksilver before,” responds Smrz when asked what sort of film he’d like to direct. “I’d love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot to enjoy with that character.”

Singer will return to once again direct X-Men: Apocalypse, which hits theaters May 27, 2016.
