Natalie Portman Reveals ‘Planets, Characters, and Worlds’ Were Cut From Thor: Love and Thunder

Fans already knew that the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder featured some deleted scenes starring some big names. However, actress Natalie Portman recently revealed that a ton more was cut from the film.

“There were whole sequences, planets, characters, and worlds that didn’t end up in the movie that were hilarious and amazing and [that] we spent a lot of time and energy on, and certainly the entire crew also designing and conceiving,” Portman said in an interview with IndieWire.

While she didn’t go into details on what exactly was cut, Portman did mention that there were some “very emotional scenes” between Thor and Portman’s Jane Foster that didn’t make the final version of the film. Portman went on to say that unlike other films, it felt like the team behind Thor: Love and Thunder had too much great stuff to include.

“It’s just amazing how much great material is not in the film, considering how much great material is in it,” said Portman. “Usually, it’s like, you’re just trying to get enough good stuff to put in the film, and this had overflow. So that was really surprising.”

Portman’s comments echo that of actor Christian Bale, who plays Gorr the God Butcher in the upcoming film. Last month, Bale revealed that both Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey were cut from the film, as well Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster, who Bale mentioned having shot a scene with all of them.
