Anson Mount Discusses His Doctor Strange 2 Cameo

Actor Anson Mount starred as the superhero Black Bolt in Marvel’s ABC television series Inhumans, and recently, the actor made a cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With such a large contingency of people having seen the film, Mount took to social media to address his appearance.

Mount tweeted out the history of appearing in the film, revealing that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige called him about reprising his short-lived stint as Black Bolt. Mount went on to say that it was “an honor & joy” to work with director Sam Raimi, and that he was incredibly grateful for the experience.

“Finally able to discuss this [without] providing too many spoilers,” Mount said in his tweet. “Getting the call from [Kevin Feige] was one of the most unexpected of my life. It was an honor and joy to finally work w/ Sam [Raimi] who reached out to engage me on how best to do this. Beyond grateful for the experience.”

In the film, Mount’s Bolt meets a brutal end, as he and the rest of the Illuminati are dispatched by Elizabeth Olson’s Wanda Maximoff after. These other Illuminati members are Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (Haley Atwell), Professor X (Patrick Stewart), and perhaps the biggest cameo of the bunch, Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, played by none other than John Krasinski.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees the return of Benedict Cumberbatch in his role as Dr. Stephen Strange. This time, the Sorcerer Supreme will join Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, who finally transformed into the Scarlet Witch during the WandaVision finale. The film was directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man trilogy) from a script written by Emmy-winning scribe Michael Waldron (Loki).
