Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City Film Adds Moonrise Kingdom’s Jake Ryan

According to Deadline, Chad actor Jake Ryan is officially reuniting with Oscar-nominated director Wes Anderson in the forthcoming romantic comedy-drama film which has now been titled Asteroid City. This marks the third collaboration between Ryan and Anderson, after also working together in 2012’s Moonrise Kingdom and 2018’s Isle of Dogs. In addition, production on the filmmaker’s newest star-studded project has finally wrapped in Spain.

Asteroid City is being described as a love story set in Europe, which is written and directed by Wes Anderson. The ensemble cast will include long-time Wes Anderson collaborators, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Bryan Cranston, Jeffrey Wright, Liev Schreiber, Tony Revolori, and Jeff Goldblum.

It will also feature some new A-list collaborators Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Maya Hawke, Sophia Lillis, and more. The project is being produced by Jeremy Dawson and Steven Rales. It currently has no studio attached to it yet.

Anderson is best known for his work on films such as The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Isle of Dog, which all earned him award nominations, with The Grand Budapest Hotel giving him four Oscar wins.
