Halloween Favorites Invade DEG’s Watched at Home Top 20 List

The week before Halloween once again saw audiences predictably clamoring for classic flicks such as Hocus Pocus (No. 14), 1978’s Halloween (No. 15), and Beetlejuice (No. 16) on DEG’s Top 20 Watched at Home List. In that regard, it was unsurprising to see Wes Craven’s 1996 hit Scream make its debut at No. 17, as it remains one of the more memorable slasher films of the modern age — that new Scream trailer also helped.

Otherwise, the only notable bit of news for this week’s list was F9: The Fast Saga’s sudden drop to No. 5 after several weeks in the top three. The Vin Diesel action pic was leapfrogged by Old (No. 2), Snake Eyes (No. 3), and Injustice (No. 4), while Free Guy claimed the top spot once more.

DEG compiles the ‘Watched at Home Top 20’ list with the most widely consumed titles on disc and digital during the previous week (except for outside subscription-based streaming platforms). Assembled with the newest studio and retailer data every seven days, it showcases current consumer enthusiasm for home viewing of the newest film and television releases.
