According to the report, the studio is set to make a brand new, reimagined take on the 1980s vampire film, with actors Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) and Jaeden Martell (It) set to star in the feature film. The report also notes that Randy McKinnon will write the latest film, with Jonathan Entwistle set to direct the upcoming feature.

Starring Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, and Corey Feldman, the original The Lost Boys follows the adventures of two brothers who, after moving to California, find themselves facing off against a gang of vampires. The original film received a direct-to-DVD sequel, Lost Boys: The Tribe, in 2008 and a third film, Lost Boys: The Thirst, in 2010.

Two years ago, a television series based on the film was also in the works, but various issues caused The CW to move on from the project. Instead, Warner Bros. will now focus on bringing a new movie to audiences, with the intent still on reviving the world of the cult classic film.
