Ethan Hawke (Training Day), Peter Sarsgaard (Shattered Glass), and Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road) have joined Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Southpaw) in The Guilty, the upcoming thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), according to Deadline. The movie is based on the Danish drama Den Skyldige directed by Gustav Moller.

Additional cast members who have also joined the project include Paul Dano (The Batman), Byron Bowers (Concrete Cowboys), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Dolemite Is My Name), David Castañeda (The Umbrella Academy), Christina Vidal (7 Days to Vegas), Adrian Martinez (Stumptown), Bill Burr (The King of Staten Island), Beau Knapp (The Good Lord Bird), and Edi Patterson (Knives Out).

The Guilty takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger — but he soon discovers that nothing is at it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.

The screenplay is written by Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective). Gyllenhaal will produce along with his Nine Stories partner Riva Marker as well as Fuqua through his Fuqua Films. Producers also include Scott Greenberg, Michel Litvak, and Gary Michael Walters for Bold Films. Annie Marter, Gustav Moller, and Lina Flint will executive produce.
