Universal Plans iNumber Number Remake

Released last year in South Africa, writer-director Donovan Marsh’s crime thriller iNumber Number is slated for a remake. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to do just that. The original film’s official synopsis reads as follows:

When Chili Ngcobo, an honest but ambitious undercover cop, is cheated out of a major reward by his corrupt superiors, he infiltrates a cash-in-transit heist gang, and instead of busting them, he decides to participate in a one off score. He must face off against his partner who refuses to let him do it and one of the gang members who recognizes him as a cop.

No new creative talent has, as of yet, been announced, but it is noted that Marsh is not planning on writing or directing himself.

The new take on iNumber Number will be produced by Chris Morgan, Emile Gladstone and Aram Tertzakian. Nate Bolotin and Nick Spicer are attached to executive produce.
