Shia LaBeouf & Vanessa Kirby to star in Pieces of a Woman
The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the upcoming drama Pieces of a Woman from White God‘s Kornél Mundruczó has found its two leads in the form of Shia LaBeouf (Honey Boy) and Vanessa Kirby (Hobbs & Shaw).
The project, written by Kata Wéber and directed by Mundruczó, follows a home birth that’s gone tragically awry and a grieving woman trying to come to terms with her loss while also dealing with the ramifications in her relationships with her husband and her estranged mother.
The film marks a reunion for Wéber and Mundruczó, who have worked together on the acclaimed 2014 horror-drama White God and the 2017 sci-fi drama Jupiter’s Moon. Kevin Turen and Ashley Levinson are set to produce the project through the Little Lamb banner, which is backing the film, alongside Aaron Ryder (Arrival), with Viktória Petrányi, Sam Levinson, Aaron L. Gilbert, Jason Cloth and Stuart Manashil attached as executive producer.
LaBeouf has been enjoying a resurgence of sorts the past four years with lead roles in the acclaimed indie films Borg vs McEnroe, American Honey, The Peanut Butter Falcon and Honey Boy, the autobiographical project he wrote surrounding his childhood and relationship with his father which has been earning widespread acclaim following its premiere at Sundance Film Festival this past January.
Kirby rose to fame with her role as Princess Margaret in Netflix’s acclaimed period drama The Crown and has since gone on to hit it big in movies with roles in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and this year’s box office smash Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Production is set to begin on Pieces of a Woman in Montreal in December.
