Felicity Jones & Shailene Woodley to Star In The Last Letter From Your Lover

According to Deadline, Academy Award-nominated actress Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) and Golden Globe nominee Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies) have signed on to star in the film adaptation of The Last Letter From Your Lover, based on author Jojo Moyes best-selling novel of the same name. Jones and Woodley will also be serving as the film’s executive producers.

The Last Letter From Your Lover features a dual-narrative love story which will be set between London and the Riviera. It will follow the story of Ellie (Jones), a young female journalist in contemporary London who uncovers a series of love letters in the archives which tell the story of an intensely romantic but star-crossed affair in the 1960s between Jennifer Stirling (Woodley) and Anthony O’Hare. As Ellie is drawn into the story, she becomes obsessed with discovering the lovers’ identities and finding out how their love story ends.

In addition to Jones and Woodley, Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Joe Alwyn (The Favourite), Nabhaan Rizwan (Informer) an Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) have also been cast for the film.

The Last Letter From Your Lover will be directed by Euphoria’s Augustine Frizzell. It is a production by Studiocanal and Blueprint Pictures in partnership with The Film Farm. Blueprint’s Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent will be producing along with The Film Farm’s Simone Urdl and Jennifer Weiss. Studiocanal will be financing and handling the film’s international distribution.

The novel was first published in 2010. It was written by English writer Jojo Moyes, who is also known as the author of romance drama novel Me Before You which had also been adapted into a film. Moyes’ novel has already been translated into 33 languages and has sold more than three million copies worldwide.
