Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap label to produce Fools Day
Margot Robbie is ever busy! Along with starring gigs in this summer’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, as well as upcoming roles in Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad, Peter Rabbit 2 and Ruin, among others, the actress will also produce and co-star in the comedy Fools Day for New Line Cinema.
According to Deadline, Robbie will produce the film, based on Cody Blue Snider’s award-winning comedy short, via her LuckChap Entertainment. Snider will serve as co-writer and director on the feature length adaptation. Keatyn Lee will also serve as co-writer.
The original short film followed a fourth-grade class who accidentally kill their teacher via an April Fool’s Day prank gone awry. The kids, afraid of being thrown in jail for the crime, attempt to hide the body before the police arrive to conduct an anti-drug lesson. Per the report, Robbie is in talks to play the ill-fated teacher.
Bill Migliore, Edward Norton, and John Rickard will produce alongside Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara.
Fools Day was honored at more than 30 film festivals around the globe.
