Vincent Cassel, Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko and Shea Whigham (Silver Linings Playbook) are all set to star in the upcoming action thriller Momentum, Variety reports. The film marks the directorial debut of Stephen Campanelli, known for his decades of work in Hollywood as a camera operator.
Based on a screenplay by Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan, Momentum follows a thief (Kurylenko), who is trying to avoid both the law and a deadly gang of assassins led by Cassel’s character.
Freeman and Kurylenko starred together earlier this year in Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion, while Whigham was featured in Justin Lin’s Fast & Furious 6 and Cassel recently starred in Danny Boyle’s Trance.
Anton Ernst will serve as producer on Momentum through Thaba Media and Azari Media as the film targets a January 2014 production in Cape Town.
