Emile Hirsch Contends with Mel Gibson’s Force of Nature

According to Deadline, Emilie Hirsch has signed up for the action film Force of Nature opposite Mel Gibson. The film is directed by Michael Polish and written by Cory Miller.

Force of Nature focuses on Gibson’s retired detective who must protect the residents of a building being overrun by criminals in the middle of a hurricane. Michael Polish will direct the film from a script by Cory Miller. Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce alongside Luillo Ruiz and executive producers Tim Sullivan and Alex Eckert. Production is set to commence July 19 in Puerto Rico.

Hirsch will play a cop, per the report, who helps Gibson’s character ward off the bad guys.

The film will serve as a reunion between Hirsch and producers Randall Emmett, and George Furla, who worked together on Peter Berg’s war drama Lone Survivor in 2013. The actor also appears in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which releases July 26.
