First Reactions Call Toy Story 4 Another Home Run For The Series

It’s been a long road of anticipation and conserved skepticism for the upcoming fourth installment in Pixar’s acclaimed family franchise, Toy Story 4, but the studio screened the film for a group of critics and they took to social media afterwards singing its praising, highlighting everything from its beautiful animation to its well-crafted story, putting audiences at ease that they’re going to be walking into another heartwarming adventure in two weeks! I was as skeptical as anyone when they said the words “Toy Story 4,” but it’s another home run for this series. All the heart and humor you expect, and plenty of surprises. It’s amazing how they’re always able to find something NEW to say with these characters.

#ToyStory4 has an ending as lovely and warm and heartbreaking as Toy Story 3. In between the genuine belly laughs (thanks, Duke Caboom) is a story that has the heart that Pixar is known for. Loved it.

TOY STORY 4: Only Pixar at the top of their game can make a third sequel to a franchise about living toys that’s a poignant look at learning to prioritize your own happiness over the happiness of others. Also: feels as definitively final as 3 did. Keanu Reeves steals it all.

#ToyStory4 brings a conclusion to the story of Buzz & Woody that we never knew we wanted but is totally worth it. It sets up a potential future for the franchise with a host of new characters. Definitely a quality Pixar film and one of their best sequels.

Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in Toy Story 4, welcoming new friends to Bonnie’s room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. But Forky insists that he is NOT a toy! An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. Unfortunately, every time he tries to get away, someone yanks him back into an adventure he’d rather skip.

Woody’s journey in Toy Story 4 also includes a visit to a carnival where he meets Ducky and Bunny, two carnival prizes who are eager to be won. But when their plans are rudely interrupted by Woody and his friends, they find themselves on an unexpected adventure with a group of toys who have no idea what it feels like to be tacked to a prize wall.

Keanu Reeves, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele join newcomer Tony Hale in the voice cast alongside returning cast members Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Annie Potts, Patricia Arquette and Joan Cusack.

LAYOUT – To create a sequence in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” members of the camera and staging team use the storyboards to further explore how best to shoot the sequence. This team determines placement of the virtual cameras, which informs the sets teams where to place set pieces and props. Camera and staging also roughly choreographs the movement of the characters, considering framing, composition, lens, camera angle, stage lines and screen directions.
