Brianna Hildebrand and Lana Condor to star in new comedy Girls Night
According to Deadline, two of Hollywood’s rising young stars Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool) and Lana Condor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) have signed for leading roles in the forthcoming coming-of-age comedy movie titled Girls Night. Directed by Marianna Palka (GLOW), the film’s production is expected to begin in summer in New York City.
“We’ve finally arrived at an era where it has become permissible for women to be portrayed as wild, imperfect, inappropriate, hilarious and real human beings.” Palka said. “Girls Night is about coming-of-age, rejecting societal constraints, and the power of sisterhood. We will break some boundaries!”
Producer Shaun Redick added, “Lana and Brianna are the perfect combination to lead this memorable comedy. The characters of Alex and Tina are about to take flight,”
Written by Cristina Kinon, Girls Night will follow the story of two unlikely best friends, college seniors, Alex (Condor) and Tina (Hildebrand), and their adventures over the course of Halloween Night in New York City as they try and track down a lost one-night stand – and figure out what they’re going to do with the rest of their lives.
The film will also be produced by Ashok Amritraj along with Yvette Yates (Malicious) and Redick (BlacKkKlansman) through the Impossible Dream Entertainment banner. Priya Amritraj, Addison Mehr and Delray Village Ent’s Mickey Gooch will serve as executive producer together with Bankside Films’ Stephen Kelliher and Sophie Green. Impossible Dream and Bankside Films will handle the U.S. distribution sales of the film with Bankside also set to manage its international sales.
Hildebrand is best known for her role as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in superhero films Deadpool and Deadpool 2 alongside Ryan Reynolds (6 Underground). Her film credits also include the romantic drama First Girl I Loved and the dark comedy film Tragedy Girls. She will next be seen in the Netflix series Trinkets and in the comedy film Playing with Fire starring alongside John Cena.
Condor gained worldwide recognition through her breakout role as Lara Jean Covey in Netlfix’s popular romantic comedy To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before co-starring Noah Centineo. She is set to reprise the role in the film’s sequel which had recently just finished production. She currently plays one of the main characters in SYFY’s the Deadly Class which is produced by The Russo brothers.
