Katherine Langford’s Cut Role from Avengers: Endgame Revealed

Endgame spoilers ahead!!

Last year, it was reported that 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford has been tapped for a secret role in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. However when the epic film was release two weeks ago, MCU fans were confused as to why they didn’t saw any scenes of the young actress in the final cut..

In a recent interview at the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed that Langford was indeed cast in a major role which was crucial to Iron Man’s original send-off scene. In the scene, Langford portrayed the future version of Tony Stark’s daughter Morgan.

There was an idea that we had that Tony was going to go into the metaphysical way station that Thanos goes in when he snapped his fingers. And that there was going to be a future version of his daughter in that way station,” Anthony Russo said on the podcast.

Joe added, The intention was that his future daughter, because these films are dealing with magic, his future daughter forgave him and sort of gave him peace to go. And the idea felt resonant. But it was just too many ideas in an overly complicated movie.

According to the brothers, the sequence was ultimately cut from the film due to the test audiences’ reaction to Langford’s scene, who didn’t immediately realize who she was playing.

“What we realized about it was we didn’t feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter. So it wasn’t ringing to us and resonating with us on an emotional level,” Anthony Russo said.
