Netflix Developing Christmas Rom-Com Let It Snow

Deadline reports that Netflix has acquired the rights to the Christmas romantic comedy Let It Snow, based on the novel of the same name written by Shades of London author Maureen Johnson, Internet Girls‘ Lauren Myracle and The Fault in Our Stars‘ John Green. The streaming service will adapt the stories of three high school students in a small town during the Christmas season as they gain new experiences regarding love and friendships during a huge snow storm.

Let It Snow will be produced by Planet of the Apes franchise producer Dylan Clark, Alexa Faigen and executive-produced by Beau Beauman and will be directed by Luke Snellin, the English screenwriter/director known for his work on various commercials and TV shows including the Toni Collette-led Netflix drama series Wanderlust. Snellin will make his feature film debut with the rom-com.

Green’s novels have received two previous adaptation, The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns, both of which were box office hits and the former of which was also critically acclaimed. Production is set to begin on Let It Snow sometime in early 2019.
