Marisa Tomei Joins Liev Schreiber's Human Capital

Deadline reports that Academy Award-winning actress Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, What Women Want) has signed on to play the role of Carrie in the forthcoming film adaptation Human Capital, based on Stephen Amidon’s 2005 novel of the same name. Tomei will be joining Alex Wolff as Ian and Golden Globe nominated actor Liev Schreiber (Spotlight, Ray Donovan) as Drew, who’s also set to serve as the film’s producer through his Illuminated Content banner.

Human Capital is a family drama about families who help each other in order to chase their American Dream. The films will follow the live of two families belonging in two different social economic status: one middle class and one privileged. These two groups of people’s lives will intertwine across the social divide when two of their children suddenly begin a relationship that leads to a tragic accident.

The film is directed by Marc Meyers from Oren Moverman’s script. Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray of Maven Pictures are producing the film along with Bert Marcus Films’ Bert Marcus, Matthew Stillman of Illuminated Content and Moverman through his Sight Unseen Pictures.

Marisa Tomei is best known for her roles in films such as: the comedy My Cousin Vinny, which earned her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress; Anger Management opposite Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson; and in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Homecoming as the new Aunt May. She will next be seen in the sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home which will premiere next year on July 2019.
