CS Video: Josh Peck on Battle of the Year

Launched in 1990, the real world Battle of the Year is an annual B-boying competition held in Europe that brings together the finest breakdancers from all over the world. Director Benson Lee made the competition the focus of both his 2007 documentary, Planet B-Boy, and a new, narrative take with this Friday’s Battle of the Year.

Starring Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso, Josh Peck, Caity Lotz and Chris Brown, Battle of the Year follows a down-on-his-luck coach, Blake (Holloway), who is enlisted by his friend, Dante (Alonso) to train an American Dream Team for the Battle of the Year competition.

ComingSoon.net sat down with Josh Peck, who plays Blake’s assistant coach, Franklyn, to discuss the world of B-Boying, Lee’s transition from documentary to narrative and Peck’s own breaking skills. Check it out in the player below and catch Battle of the Year in theaters this Friday, September 20.
