Jang Ki-Young’s The Atypical Family Episode 1 Release Date & Trailer Revealed 

The Atypical Family is a new South Korean drama all set to premiere in May 2024 on JTBC and Netflix. Starring Jang Ki-Young and Chun Woo-Hee, the fantasy K-drama revolves around a family with magical powers.

Bok Gwi-Joo’s (Jang Ki-Young) family inherits magical powers. His power is that he can travel to the past and revisit his happy moments. Things change since he suffers from depression. Not just him, the entire family’s powers begin to disappear. When Do Da-Hae (Chun Woo-Hee) enters their life, the family thinks she has the ability to help them restore their magical powers.

According to the episode 1 trailer, it will focus on the Bok family and their supernatural skills. Gwi-Joo seems in a dark place and has lost his ability to transport to the past.

The Atypical Family episode 1 will premiere on Saturday, May 4, 2024, and episode 2 on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 10.30 p.m. KST on JTBC. The K-drama will also be available to stream on Netflix.

In the latest episode 1 trailer, Da-Hae starts living with the Bok family. She finds the house and the members strange. Meanwhile, Gwi-Joo suffers from depression and tries to kill his pain by relying on alcohol. It seems the family with magical powers will suddenly lose their abilities. 

The trailer’s end shows Da-Hae running into the sea to save Gwi-Joo. The final scene features Gwi-Joo’s mother dreaming of a woman and claiming that Da-Hae is the key to regaining their powers.

The Atypical Family cast includes Jang Ki-Young, Chun Woo-Hee, Go Doo-Shim, Kim Su-Hyun, Park So-Yi, and Oh Man-Seok. The fantasy romance K-drama will air twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays on JTBC and Netflix.
